YOUR impact for women in Ethiopia
- Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia’s clinical team performed 783 life-changing fistula repair surgeries at Hamlin’s six fistula hospitals in Addis Ababa, Mekele, Yirgalem, Metu, Harar and Bahir Dar. The fistula closure rate was 94%.
- At Desta Mender rehabilitation and reintegration centre, 349 women gained essential numeracy and literacy skills and 51 former fistula patients completed the Women's Empowerment Program.
- Hamlin Midwives safely delivered over 3,400 babies per month and prevented countless childbirth injuries.

Project Zero
Project Zero was launched in 2023 by Hamlin Fistula Ethiopia to accelerate the eradication of obstetric fistula across all regions of Ethiopia – step by step, woreda by woreda.

Desta Mender is Hamlin's Rehabilitation and Reintegration Centre where where longer-term fistula patients with more severe injuries can continue to heal.
